Mission of the Alter Music Association

All parents of students currently participating in the Alter High School Marching Knights are members of the Alter Music Association. Membership is also open to alumni, their parents, and friends of the Alter High School Marching Knights. The primary goal of the Music Association is to provide financial and volunteer support for the music program at Alter High School.

Participation in all of our fund raising projects by each member of the Marching Knights and their parents is essential. You are encouraged to become involved in as many of the committees as possible.

The Marching Knight calendar is kept on a program called Ututti. Anyone can see the calendar to see where the Knights are performing. Students and parents can log on to it to obtain other useful information.

Fund Raising

From the beginning of July to the first performance at AlterFest Sept 3rd , the Alter Marching Knights will rehearse about 200 hours to learn the 2016 show Ghost Story. This season is packed with exciting performances and competitions including a trip to St. Louis and Indianapolis to compete nationally. To help offset the cost of the season, we are holding a Rehearse-A-Thon. Could you sponsor an hour or two? The goal is for each student to raise $1 for each of the 200 hours rehearsed. 100% of donations go toward the cost of transportation, food and equipment for the 2016 season and your donation is 100% tax deductible.
